Where To Stay Cool This Summer

Summer is officially here!  With the days getting longer and the temperatures rising, we are ready to spend our days at the pool!  Luckily,  the Ozarks has plenty of public pools that are perfect for you and your family!

SPRINGFIELD OUTDOOR PUBLIC POOLS 

Fassnight Pool
1300 S. Campbell - Springfield, MO

This pool is the largest pool  in Springfield and is conveniently located in the middle of town, off of Campbell next to Parkview High School in historic Fassnight Park. This pool offers a fenced-in splash area with kiddie pool area for small children ages 6 and under, as well as a large leisure pool that goes from depths of 2 '6'' to 12’ in the deep end. There is a slide and two diving boards along with a concessions area and shade structures. 

Grant Beach Pool
1401 N. Grant Avenue - Springfield, MO

This pool was newly renovated in the summer of 2011 and has a lot to offer for families and individuals. Located in North Springfield by the historic locomotive off of Grant Avenue in historic Grant Beach Park, this pool has two slides, a drop slide, a spring board, concessions area, and an interactive tree house style spray structure for kids 8 and under.

McGee-McGregor Wading School 

Phelps Grove Park - 1200 E. Bennett - Springfield, MO

The McGee/McGregor is located right across from historic Phelps Grove Park on the corner of Bennett St. and Holland Avenue. This is a wading pool for children 6 years old or under and their parents. Admission is free. This pool is a great place for those who have been newly introduced to the water and want a place with a small population throughout the day.

Meador Pool 

2500 S. Fremont Avenue - Springfield, MO

This pool is located on the south side of Springfield north of the Battlefield Mall, on the corner of Sunset and Fremont. Meador has a very relaxed feel and is often one of the least crowded pools throughout the day. It has one diving board, 12-foot diving well, concessions, and a kiddie pool that is separate from the larger leisure pool. 

Silver Springs Pool 

1100 N. Hampton Avenue - Springfield, MO

Silver Springs Pool was renovated in 2010 and is located on the north side of Springfield on the corner of Scott Street and Hampton Avenue in historic Silver Springs Park. This pool is great for young children and is one of our smaller pools. It has a zero-depth entry with several splash and spray features, a drop slide, spring board, water benches, shade structures, and concessions area. The depth in the main part of the pool only goes to 3 feet with a wall separating the deep end where the spring board and drop slide are located. 

Westport Pool 

3100 W. Mount Vernon Street - Springfield, MO

This pool is located on the west side of Springfield off of Golden and Mount Vernon Streets.  Westport Pool is newly renovated for the 2012 season and includes an in-water rock climbing wall, several floating and spray features, a splash area, zero-depth entry, drop slide, springboard, concessions, and shade structures.

Nixa Aquatic Center

The Aquatic Park has approximately 11,500 square feet of water space! It has two water slides, play & water features, swimming lanes, diving boards, shade structures, wet changing rooms and full service concessions. 

Republic Aquatic Center

711 E. Miller Road - Republic, MO

Home of one of the best public pools in the 417! Republic Aquatic Center features traditional swimming space, a speed slide, a corkscrew slide, a splash spray structure and several diving boards. The main attraction is the FlowRider™ Surf Simulator locally nicknamed "The Huna".  No need to head to the ocean when you can surf right here in Republic, MO!

Willard Park Aquatic Center 

233 N. State Highway Z - Willard, MO

The Willard Aquatics Center is fully equipped with two 139' twisting slides, two diving boards, & multiple water features. Enjoy our exciting water features during the hot summer days! The minimum age for unsupervised swimming is 12. Anyone under 12 must be accompanied by an adult 18 or older. No outside food or drink is allowed.

The Fountain at Jordan Valley Park

635 E. Trafficway Street - Springfield, MO

If you are looking for a place to splash around without getting into a pool, head over to the fountains at Jordan Valley Park.  The fountains run nearly all day during the summer! The Ozarks Stream and Fountain operates May-October, with a 30-minute fountain show every hour, on the hour, 10 a.m.- 9:30 p.m. The fountains also run continuously 11 a.m.- 1:30 p.m, which makes it perfect for splash time. 

Doling Indoor Aquatic Center

301 E. Talmage - Springfield, MO

Doling Aquatic Center is open year-round. During Open Swim hours, water features will be turned on. Classes and programs may also be held during this time which may affect the use of features by guests. During Guaranteed Lap Swim hours, lap lanes will be designated for lap swim only. 

Chesterfield Indoor Aquatic Center

White Water

This Branson water park features 2 million gallons of fun and 13 acres of water rides, slides and waves. Splash Country Waterpark

 Branson’s premier indoor and outdoor waterpark. Featuring nine water filled attractions, from a relaxing lazy river to an action packed treehouse with a 1,000 gallon tipping bucket.
