School District Highlight: Republic

You are ready to buy a home.  You have researched different communities, neighborhoods, price points and homestyles but have you thought about the school district?  Schools, especially public, matter even if you don’t have children. Why should you be thinking about schools if you don’t have children right now?

Schools and school districts are now one of the top deciding factors for buyers when purchasing their home! Buyers not only look at the district for themselves and their family but for the future increase in home value and attracting potential buyers when they decide to put their home on the market! 

Each month, we will be highlighting one of our area’s school districts to help you with evaluating where the best fit for you and your family will be.  First up…Republic School District.

Republic is one of the fastest growing communities in the Ozarks, which means their school district is also one of the most sought after.  Republic’s mission for their 5,024 currently enrolled students is “Prepare Each Student For A Successful Future”. The Republic School District is a leader in student success across the state of Missouri. The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education evaluates all public schools in the state through an Annual Performance Report.  This report is based on a 140 point scale.  Republic’s most recent assessment earned them a 100%, as the district achieved 140 out of 140. 

A big focus over the last few years has been to implement and embrace technology to enhance the learning of their students! The entire district is either 1:1 or 2:1 (one/devices per one student) based on student developmental needs. This a huge success for the district and every Republic student.

There are several academic offerings at Republic that make this school district unique.  Project Lead The Way is designed for middle and high school students and is geared towards Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).  GO CAPS is another partnership for students to get out of the classroom and attend “school” at places of business in healthcare, business, IT or engineering/manufacturing fields.  

Academic achievement through extra-curricular activities is offered as early as Kindergarten and goes through high school.  FCCLA, FFA, AFJROTC, FBLA, DECA, Speech and Debate, Band and Choir are among the programs that your student can become involved in!   Republic Athletics has also become a powerhouse in Southwest Missouri. Student athletes can participate in basketball, baseball, football, soccer, softball, wrestling and more.
