School District Highlight: Nixa

Nixa School District is still one of the most coveted school districts in the Springfield area. The school district serves 6,348 students throughout 12 schools in the city. In 2020, Nixa High School ranked among the best High Schools in the United States according to the U.S. News & World Report. Plus Niche puts Nixa Public Schools is at #3 for Best School Districts in the Springfield, MO area.

The academics at Nixa schools are among the best in the state. For 9 years in a row, Nixa has finished first in MAP/End of Course scores in the Central Ozarks Conference schools in all content areas. Their composite ACT scores sit at 23.3, highest among public Central Ozark Conference schools.  Plus they have one of the highest attendance rates and lowest dropout rates in the state.

One of the most popular activities among elementary and junior high students is the Robotics Team.  At the beginning of 2018, nearly 200 students were participating in Nixa Eagle Robotics in grades 1-8!  They offer Big Bot Theory for the older teams and Lil’ Bot Theory for younger students! There are multiple activities for your student to get involved in at the junior high and  high school level, as well, including  JROTC, Nixa Band, Nixa High School Journalism, Theatre and MORE! 

Nixa athletics is a staple in the community.  You can guarantee a packed house at a Friday night football game or during basketball season!  The community rallies around the Nixa athletics community in a big way. 

For three years in a row, Nixa High School has been named a Missouri State High School Activities Association “5-Star School.” Only 11 other high schools in the state have that honor.
