Preparing to Sell Around the Holidays
A common misconception for November and December, is that the real estate market takes a break. What we find, actually, is that there are a lot of homes sales still happening all the way through the holiday season. Here are some things to keep in mind as you think through what will work best for you and your family!
Some worries that SELLERS might have are:
Will I still be able to decorate for Thanksgiving and Christmas?
Will I still get a good price for my home?
Will I have to move on holidays and won’t it be hectic?
Will I still be able to decorate for Thanksgiving and Christmas?
Picture this… A buyer walks through the front door of your home and the smell of warm apple cider and sugar cookies fills the air. They walk from room to room and see beautiful decorations with fall leaves, pumpkins or Christmas Trees. It feels like a cozy home that they would want to call their own! You don’t have to give up your special traditions with your family and that special feeling you get when walking into your full decked out home. Just pack up the items you don’t need for the next couple of months and move them to the shed or garage. You can still decorate your home as long as you keep it looking clutter free and smelling fresh.
Will I still get a good price for my home?
The current market has a lower inventory which means fewer houses. This is not because of the holidays. We just NEED HOUSES for buyers right now, because inventory has been low for quite some time! That means that even though there are homes out there, homes are going quickly if they are priced appropriately. We have buyers out there ready to make an offer on the home of their dreams all year long! Yours might just be what they are looking for and could bring multiple offers!
Will I have to move on holidays and won’t it be hectic?
Some concerns we’ve heard about include being able to fit family time in with all the things that come with moving. Family is the most important thing to focus on around the holidays and we would never want you to give that time up. You can set your showing schedule and your closing date around your schedule. In fact, some people have said they find it easier to move over the holidays because they have more vacation time to use and family in town to help.
Listing your home over the holidays doesn’t have to mean you make big sacrifices. We can set up a schedule that makes sense for you and your family. We also have a list of resources that can make packing and moving a little easier, if you need the extra help. Give us a call and let us know how we can help get your home SOLD!
